Baked Gluten-Free Chocolate Donuts


These fluffy baked chocolate donuts will be your new go-to sweet treat! 

 

INGREDIENTS

DONUTS

  • 1/3 cup coconut or brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil 
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 1 cup of gluten-free all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

 

FROSTING

  • 2/3 cup Lily's Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 2 tbsp refined coconut oil 
  • 1 tbsp honey or light corn syrup

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350F

Grease two, 6 cavity donut pans (this recipe makes 8, so only need to grease 8).  If you only have one pan, you can just do two batches!

Whish together all wet ingredients in a bowl until smooth.  Whisk in the dry ingredients.

Whisk until smooth and add to prepared pans.

Bake for 8-11 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.  Ours are usually perfect at 9 1/2 minutes.  These can over bake really easily, so keep a close eye!

Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then flip onto a cooling rack.

Once cool, add all ingredients for the frosting to a bowl, and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until full melted.

Dip the top of each donut in the frosting and top with sprinkles.  Enjoy!
